Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking can be so much more than mere organization and aggregation. With Diigo, you can create and share lists, annotate with stickies and highlighting, and collaborate with others.

Blogging as Curation

Many students are already blogging on popular sites such as Tumblr. Really, they are curating things they are passionate about. Tumblr is very visual and a nice cross between the extreme visual of Pinterest and the perhaps not so visual traditional blogging platforms. It operates a bit like Twitter, but you can write so much more.

Archiving and Sharing

Having the ability to archive student work, or your own work and accomplishments for reflection and sharing is essential. The more exemplars you have, the better. Putting them into the cloud rather than having them tied to device seems safer, with the added benefit of being able to share them with a wider audience.

"Curation is more than packaging - it is to help readers discern what is important in the world" - Maria Popova of Brainpickings
