PRESENTATIONS and PROJECTS
Project with my creative partner, Herb Mahelona. We are also known as the "Historyteachers" or @historyteacherz
Site hosting my 3 presentations: #onceuponahashtag, Hack into the Hybrid, and Students as Curators
I was honored to present a talk "Dare to Share" at the Edtechwomen panel at SXSWEdu14 in Austin, Texas. My slides can be found in my Slideshare
I was commissioned to write this blog post about my experience with the History for Music Lovers Project., entitled "Life as a Technotroubadour" (yes I made that word up)
Curt Bonk, author of "The World is Open" asked Herb and I to speak at the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education Conference (10/11). We ended up going from "invited" speakers to keynoters when one of their keynoters couldn't make it. Curt's interview, linked below, includes links to our Prezi.
We made 2 Prezis- one is augmented with media we felt would make the presentation too long if included, as well as an accompanying web site with resources for the talk.
"What I Learned from Napoleon and MTV" *please note that in the original talk, the entire Henry VIII video was NOT included
(Nov., 2011) "The Gutenberg Parenthesis" and its affect on education. Special thanks to my influences, Alejandro Piscitelli, Maria Popova, and Austin Kleon.
(July, 2012): "Parody-So: The Unexpected Lessons of a HistoryTeacher Turned Edulebrity" (film forthcoming).
