There is a lot of symbolism in the play Macbeth...lots of shadows, dark deeds, and hiding the truth. Let's use black and white photography to capture the essence of that....
1. Choose 9 iconic moments - the scenes that for you, are the most powerful. (this is called a "Literary 3 X 3"). Be sure to have at least 1 scene per act (there are 5 acts).
2. Take photos that will illustrate these scenes or quotes. You are encouraged to think metaphorically as well as literally. Stage them with drama! Get macro (close-up)
3. Match your photos with TEXTUAL EVIDENCE (the context, direct quote, and Act/ Scene reference)
4. Use a NOIR filter (or other dramatic black and white treatment) for effect. Option: use spot color on a black and white photo (such as red).
5. Compile the 9 images into a cohesive photo essay on your blog (you can post directly, make a collage, or use Google slides).
6. We will share all in class. You can view examples from the 11th grade IB class by checking out their blogs in "student work" and searching for "Kokoro Noir".
